ABOUT KVR

An Exceptional & Unique Outdoor Experience

We are located 16 miles west of Lampasas in Lometa, Texas off of Farm to Market (FM) 581 North in the beautiful TEXAS Hill Country of Texas. We offer a year-round, unique outdoor experience with diverse terrain…live oak stands, pecan bottoms, native pastures, caliche ridges, and cultivated fields make the backdrop for your stay at the KVR.

Quail, pheasant, and chukar are available to hunt from the first of October through the end of March. (See season dates with package information.) Rio Grande Turkey, dove, and trophy whitetail deer are available to hunt in their designated seasons as assigned by the Texas Parks & Wildlife.  Trophy exotics and hogs are available year-round and exotic species include: Axis, Aoudad, Blackbuck, Dybowski Sika, European Fallow, Scimitar Oryx, Sable and Wildebeest.

You’ll be amazed when you experience the combination of unique landscape with the outstanding array of available species to hunt; the unique lodging accommodations and the incredible bird hunting at KAIAN Vista Ranch.

KAIAN Vista Ranch offers the unique opportunity to customize your itinerary to meet your preferences that align with your experience level.  At the KAIAN Vista Ranch we pride ourselves in having the versatility to offer the discerning hunter exactly what they desire; instead of making everyone fit into ordinary offerings that are designed without you as the unique client having input. At the KVR, your input is taken into account. Custom-tailored hunts are just that… Hunts created just for you.

Amenities

The Hunter’s Cabin

The Hunter’s Cabin at the KVR was originally a two-car garage built in the 1960s and has been exquisitely refined to offer a unique experience with rustic charm. The cabin has one large room, reminiscent of an old school deer camp with comfortable beds, private bathroom/shower and can accommodate up to 8 guests. After the hunt there is a fully stocked bar with flat screen TV behind a truly unique mesquite bar top along with a spacious patio adjacent to the cabin with a large fire-pit.

All hunts will begin at The Hunter’s Cabin.

Hunting Blinds

KVR’s elevated and ground hunting blinds are guaranteed to provide you with the most comfortable hunting experience available.  There are numerous state-of-the-art executive hunting blinds, traditional ladder-stand and pop-up blinds strategically placed throughout the ranch offering excellent shot opportunities in highly trafficked areas for all skill levels.

These hunting blinds, together with our expert guides, provide the foundation for a successful, stress-free hunt.

The Tower Blind

The 10’x10’ Tower Blind, complete with a 5’ wraparound porch, is the ultimate in hunting comfort. It doubles as the launching tower for our Continental “Tower” shoots for pheasant. Overlooking hay fields, pecan bottoms, and game trails, it is referred to as the “poker room” in reference to the poker games that take place during evening hog hunts.

The African Dangerous Seven

As the name suggests, these executive blinds are individually named after the animals that make up the African Dangerous Seven.  Having been fortunate to take these animals, the ranch owner strategically located each blind in an area that reminded him of the hunt for that species.

The Hobbit Huts

We have all been there. Sitting in a blind made of plywood in the dead of winter, our teeth chattering so loud we’re certain the deer can hear them.

We'll freeze no more. The KVR has two Nature HERO™ Blinds which are fully insulated and well hidden. Aesthetically, it completely fools the eye with no right angles, no straight lines, and nothing appearing man-made. Their real bark textured surfaces look and feel like the real thing down to the smallest details.
